Baghdad Bomb Attacks Kill 12

Rev 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

<blockquote>“Hardly a day goes by when our senses are not bludgeoned by some new outbreak of terrorism in the Middle East.  Despite our best efforts at making and keeping the peace, political, economic, and religious tensions often lead to unrest, violence, and riots.”

Police in Baghdad are reporting that 12 people were killed and 29 wounded in a series of bomb attacks.

The biggest blast was a car bomb that exploded outside a busy restaurant in the northern part of the city. Four other bombings struck the city yesterday including one that exploded outside the home of an advisor to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.

The bombings come as Iraq is hosting an auction among worldwide gas and oil exploration firms.

This is not the first time bomb attacks have increased as the Iraqi government tried to host a major international event. In the days before an Arab League summit on March 20th, the city experienced shootings and bombings that killed 45 people.
