Levees Break In Missouri

Matthew 24:10,11 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

West Alton, Missouri has over 40 homes under water after a Missouri River levee failed near where the Missouri meets the Mississippi River.

The levee failed around noon local time and officials rushed to evacuate hundreds of people. Residents helped officials leave the area.

“I want to be safe rather than sorry,” Heather Wendle told CNN. “I don’t want to take the chances.”

Meteorologists say the rivers have likely crested north of St. Louis but locations south of the city could face increasing river levels despite the lack of continuing rain. In Cape Gireardeau, Missouri, the river is already 11 feet above flood stage and expected to crest at least 2 feet higher.

Allenville, Missouri is in a position where all roads into the city could be flooded forcing residents to commute by boat.
