An Islamic worship service is scheduled at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. for the first time in American history.
The national cathedral has been historically an Episcopalian site. Interfaith events have been hosted at the cathedral but there has never been an event where Christians are not part of the event until now.
“Leaders believe offering Muslim prayers at the Christian cathedral shows more than hospitality,” representatives for the National Cathedral wrote in a press release about the matter. “It demonstrates an appreciation of one another’s prayer traditions and is a powerful symbolic gesture toward a deeper relationship between the two Abrahamic traditions.”
“This is a dramatic moment in the world and in Muslim-Christian relations,” added South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool. “This needs to be a world in which all are free to believe and practice and in which we avoid bigotry, Islamaphobia, racism, anti-Semitism, and anti-Christianity and to embrace our humanity and to embrace faith.”
Leaders at the national cathedral have been criticized over the last few years as moving away from Christian teachings and working to oppose teachings of the Bible.
Just recently a politician/muslim in the middle east claimed there was a mosque already in Cuba when Christopher Columbus discovered America.I wondered if this man was trying to make a claim that muslims have a right to be in the United States or that they own the United States by virtue of this(or sharia law)? Oh, I hope he/they will make this claim, likewise because then we could, say, excuse me but the Jewish were in and occupied/owned Jerusalem Israel before the Palestinians/Arabs/muslims and they occupy it now. By the way when Sarah ask Abraham to put Ishmael and his mother Haggar out of the camp Jehovah told Abraham to listen to her for Ishmael was not the child of promise and COULD NOT inherit the promise of the land. And this ownership was given to the Hebrews by Almighty God/Jehovah/Jesus because (there was nothing made but it was made by him) which trumps and predates Allah and it was given to the Hebrews forever. But I also wonder if this politician/muslim understands that Cuba is not the United States but an island south of. Many of us realize the muslims occupied Spain in history but never the United States. However we occupy Guantanamo Bay, North Cuba only (ck.Teddy Roosevelt, Roughriders and San Juan Hill) now it would be funny if that supposed mosque was in North Cuba, but their claim that the flag of Islam will fly over the White House may be due to them having President Obama IN the White House, nevertheless the last laugh is Gods. Please check what God says he will do in the last days of the wicked when their calamity comes. Now I pray for the salvation of the muslim ( for the Lord tells us to pray for our enemy, I am not their enemy but they have made themselves mine) for you know what they would be called when they get saved? Christian/brother, fellow believer, so I say we claim all of them now as brothers ( by faith) that enter into that Christian Church as they are on Jesus` turf. ” They will not let us worship on the Dome Of The Rock or any mosque for that matter,nor would I . but “Speak things that be not as though they were”.
