New Poll Shows “Pro-Choice” Supporters At All-Time Low

Gallup released a new poll Wednesday that showed the number of Americans identifying themselves as “pro-choice” fell to a record low.

The poll showed that only 41% of Americans identify themselves as “pro-choice,” one percentage point below the previous low in March 2009. Half of those surveyed identified themselves as “pro-life,” one percentage point below the previous record high.

The poll also showed that the number of independent voters who identified themselves as pro-choice fell ten points from May 2011 to 41%. Gallup stated that pro-life people outnumbered pro-choice in the independent category for only the second time since 2001 with the other time being 2009.

The news wasn’t entirely good for those who defend life. The poll also said despite the number of people who believe abortion should be legal under certain circumstances remained at 52%, similar to last year’s result.

  1. You are so right, Donna. We have compassion for the mothers in distress, and our prayers can make the difference in how they learn to interpret the precious life inside them – that babies are God’s gifts to humankind.

  2. We must remember to pray for the “mothers” that are carrying those babies. Pray that God would speak to the innermost parts of their hearts and show Himself to them & reveal to them that what they have inside of them is most assuradly a life and deserves a chance at life.
