Northern India Cold Wave Kills 175

Matthew 24:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

On the heels of almost 100 dying from a cold wave in the Ukraine, a cold wave in India has killed at least 175 people with hundreds more in danger.

The Hindu reported that temperatures in the capital of New Delhi were as much as 7 degrees Celsius below average (approx. 15 degrees Fahrenheit.)

Most of those killed were homeless. Reports state as many as 150,000 homeless people are in New Delhi and there are not enough shelters to accommodate them as the weather turns harsh.

Many of the homeless have sought but have been denied government assistance.

Adding to the danger is that women and children are viewed with disdain by many in the country making it less likely they will be provided shelter and food in the extreme conditions.
