Russia Accuses Syrian Rebels of Using Nerve Gas

Luke 21:9-10: [Jesus said] "When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away." Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."

Russia has released a report where they claim Syrian rebels fired one canister of chemical weapons into a village in northern Syria.

Russia, an ally and apologist for the Syrian government, has long been resisting international efforts to remove President Bashir al-Assad from power and has disputed results of multiple reports showing conclusive proof of the government’s use of toxic sarin gas against rebels and civilians.

Russia is claiming an attack outside Aleppo in March that killed 27 people was the result of the rebels firing one canister of Sarin gas. The UN had already investigated the attack and said that while there were reasonable grounds to claim chemical weapons had been used, there was no way to determine who use them, the precise chemical weapon used and the delivery method.

The UN has been calling on the Syrian government to allow UN inspectors into the country but they have been repeatedly refused by the al-Assad regime. The Syrians have been critical of the UK and France who have issued reports proving the government’s use of chemical weapons.

“[We have] yet to see any evidence that backs up the assertion that anybody besides the Syrian government has the ability to use chemical weapons [or] has used chemical weapons,” White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters.
