U.S. Deploys Troops In Mali Battle

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

The United States has deployed armed troops to Niger in a mission to support the French war against terrorists in Mali.

In a manner that will allow the U.S. to deny direct involvement in the war against al-Qaeda, 100 troops have been sent to neighboring Niger to provide “intelligence support” in the attempt to drive terrorists out of Mali.

The troops are expected to head a drone base that will allow flyovers of Mali to take pictures and video of terrorist movements.

The base might not be a temporary move as the two countries have brokered an agreement on U.S. forces in the country that could extend the base’s tenure. The arming of the troops has been called “only for [the troops’] protection” and that they would not be seeking armed encounters with hostile forces.

Niger is located along the eastern border of Mali, closest to the major battleground city of Gao.
