Unemployment Riots In Tunisia

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

Over 200 people have been wounded after a second day of battles between protesters and Tunisian security forces.

The protesters are upset over high unemployment in the country. Tunisia is the birthplace of the “Arab Spring” that overthrew various leaders calling for Islamic rule that they believed would bring them prosperity.

Protesters are now calling for the man installed after their revolution to step down.

Unemployment in the country has jumped since the revolution to 18 percent. Businesses closed in protest on Tuesday and are scheduled to continue through the rest of the week. Trade unions are calling for more protests on Thursday.

“I ask people in Siliana to calm down,” Interior Minister Ali Larayed said during a live interview on national television Wednesday. “Protest calmly and accept dialogue.”

The violence is not limited to residents of the country. A reporter for France24 is in a hospital after someone walked up and shot him with a shotgun.
