Billy Graham Says God Answers No To Protect His Children

Rev. Billy Graham answered a question from a woman regarding God answering no to prayers by saying it was a way that our Heavenly Father protects his children.

“Let me assure you that God does love us, and precisely because He loves us, He sometimes says ‘no’ to what we request in our prayers,” Graham wrote. “Let me explain it this way. Elsewhere in your letter, you mention that you and your husband have two children. Do you give them everything they ask for? Or if they want to do something you know is dangerous, do you let them do it anyway?”

“No, of course not, and the reason is because you love them and don’t want anything bad to happen to them,” Graham continued. “Part of your responsibility as a parent is to protect your children from harm even if it sometimes means saying ‘no.'”

Graham went on to explain that God is like your protective parents.  He doesn’t want to see His children encounter harm and that Christians can’t see the future the way God can see it to know the consequences of their prayer.

“In a much greater way, God loves us and knows what is best for us —far more than we do. And because He wants to keep us from harm, He sometimes says ‘no,'” Graham asserted. “As I look back over my life, I know God sometimes said ‘no’ to things I asked him to do, and to be honest, I often was disappointed. …But later I realized God knew what He was doing, and by saying ‘no,’ He had kept me from harm.”

Graham reminded readers that God never agreed to answer all prayers.

“God hasn’t promised to answer every prayer we make,” Graham added. “He has promised only to answer those that are in line with His will. The Bible says, ‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us’ (1 John 5:14).”

Five Millionth Person Accepts Christ Through Billy Graham Online Ministry

The internet ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association announced the reaching of a milestone for their website PeaceWithGod.net.

The five millionth person has messaged them that they have accepted Christ as Savior through the materials provided by the ministry.

“This is significant because we’re following Billy Graham’s legacy of taking the most advanced technical capabilities available and reaching people where they are with the hope of Jesus,” said John Cass, BGEA’s Director of Internet Evangelism. “This has given us the opportunity to go to the ends of the earth.”

The BGEA says the website has allowed them to present the gospel through videos of Dr. Graham to millions in countries where they would never be allowed to visit in person such as Saudi Arabia and Syria.

“Even though we’re celebrating and giving God praise for the 5 millionth decision for Christ through this ministry, we realize that it’s not about the number,” Cass told the Christian Post. “Each and every person who has responded to the Gospel message on our site – from the first to the 5 millionth – is somebody’s son or daughter; somebody’s mother or father. Each person is someone who has been prayed for and who is loved by God.”

When someone contacts the group that they’ve accepted Christ, the group works with them to find a local church body and answer any additional questions the person may bring to them.

Billy Graham: We’re In A Lawless and Wicked Age

Rev. Billy Graham says that our children are enduring a “lawless and wicked age” that is driven by the Devil’s philosophy of “Do as you please”.

“We have taken God out of our educational systems and thought we could get away with it,” said Rev. Graham. “We have sown the wind, and we are now reaping the whirlwind. We have laughed at God, religion and the Bible.”

The commentary that Dr. Graham first delivered in 1955 was published in Decision magazine as a warning from Dr. Graham to today’s society.

“Many Christian parents are becoming fearful that they cannot properly train their children in this lawless and wicked age,” and are asking, “What can I do with my son? My daughter?” said Rev. Graham.  “We are beginning to reap what has been sown for the past generation,” he said.  “We have taught the philosophy of the Devil, who says, ‘Do as you please.’ Behaviorism has been the moral philosophy of much of our education in the past few years.”

Rev. Graham says that parents need to step up and institute discipline on their children because to not do is disobedience to God.

“If you fail to discipline your children, you are breaking the laws, commandments and statutes of God,” said Rev. Graham.  “You are guilty not only of injuring the moral, spiritual and physical lives of your children, but of sinning against God. The Bible says that if you fail to discipline your children, you actually hate them.”

Rev. Graham says that there is one answer to all of the ills of society.

“Christ in the home, in the lives of the parents, is the only permanent solution to the menacing teenage social problems in America.”

America’s Pastor Turns 96

The man many call America’s Pastor turns 96 years old with a focus on heaven.

Rev. Billy Graham will be celebrating his birthday at home with family and close friends today while a brand new video from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association debuts named “Heaven.”

The video has a never-before-seen message from the powerful man of God filmed last year at his home.

“I know I’m going to heaven,” Graham says.  “I’m looking forward to it with great anticipation.”

Graham has been struggling with deteriorating eyesight and hearing but staff says every day he begins with prayer, devotions and Bible study time.

“Although his physical condition keeps him homebound, he remains interested in current events and the ongoing work of the ministry that he began more than 60 years ago,” says Franklin Graham, his eldest son and president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “Opportunities like My Hope and the Heaven film are ways that we can help my father to continue the work that God called us to do. Please pray for my father, and for those who will watch this film—that they too may know the peace found in Jesus Christ.”

Shocking Decline in Morality

Most everyone knows that I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, the era of “free love” which was a nice-sounding euphemism for rampant sexual immorality. “Make love, not war” was a corny saying, but it produced a radical culture of “peace keeping” hippies who advocated nothing more than “drugs, sex and rock ‘n roll.” Everyone wanted to go along to get along, and anyone who brought attention to any of the moral “standards” that most of us grew up with was frowned upon. We were known as the “anti-establishment,” “anti-war,” “anti-government,” and anti-justabouteverything generation. We were the “counter culture” generation, and the new way was considered “revolutionary.”

We wanted to be “free” – whatever that meant. We wanted freedom from our parent’s rules (read: safeguards) and we wanted to be free of the oppression of the laws of the land which included prohibition of illegal drugs. We didn’t want anyone telling us about sin either. We grew up with that, and wanted to do our own thing without anybody judging us. We wanted freedom from any religious boundaries whatsoever. Little did we know that immorality had its own paybacks in loss of family life, children’s well-being, our own health and a host of other physical and psychological troubles that led to the decay of a once prosperous society based on Judeo-Christian principles. Anne Graham Lotz Makes Urgent Call To Prayer

Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of legendary evangelist Billy Graham, has called for America to an urgent call for prayer.

“One of the things He has impressed on me is that we are living at the end of human history as we know it,” Lotz wrote in a letter to CBN’s Pat Robertson.  She said that America needs to desperately turn away from their ways and turn to God.

Lotz says the purpose is three fold:

  • For God the Father to restrain, protect, and deliver His people from the evil that has come into our world.
  • For God the Son to be exalted, magnified, and glorified in His church, in our nation, and in our lives.
  • For God the Holy Spirit to fall on us in a fresh way, compelling the church to repent of sin and our nation to return to faith in the living God, resulting in a great national spiritual awakening.

The week of prayer will end with a seven hour fast on July 7th.

Joel 2:1, 13 Blow the trumpet…sound the alarm…for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand– Rend your heart and not your garments.  Return to the Lord your God.

Billy Graham’s Health Declines

Franklin Graham told a Charlotte area TV station that his father’s health has shown significant decline in recent days.

Graham told WSOC-TV at an event to celebrate this year’s Operation Christmas Child that Billy Graham obtained an infection after his birthday and that he “just hasn’t been able to get his strength back.”

“His vitals are good, but he’s just extremely weak,” Franklin Graham said.

Billy Graham has preached to people about Jesus. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association says that more than 215 million people in 185 countries have heard Rev. Graham share the love of Christ.

“My one purpose in life is to help people find a personal relationship with God, which, I believe, comes through knowing Christ,” Billy Graham has said.

Billy Graham Released From Hospital

Billy Graham returned home from a two-day stay at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.

Doctors say the 95-year-old Graham had been hospitalized for pulmonary-related issues and underwent tests. The two-day stay for observation was mostly precautionary.

“Mr. Graham was alert and in good spirits during his stay,” said William R. Hathaway, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Mission Hospital. “We are pleased with the results of Mr. Graham’s evaluation.”

Graham’s family thanked supporters for their prayers.

The social media site Twitter was deluged with statements from Graham’s supporters and admirers using the #PrayingForBillyGraham hashtag.

Billy Graham Hospitalized

Billy Graham has been admitted to a hospital suffering from respiratory congestion.

A spokesman for the Billy Graham Evangelical Association said that Graham has been hospitalized for similar issues over the past few years and they expect him to return home in a few days.

Graham has curtailed his public appearances after suffering from macular degeneration and hearing loss related to his advanced age. The 95-year-old Graham made an appearance as a star-studded celebration of his birthday that also celebrated the release of his new book “The Reason for Hope: Salvation.”

The BGEA asked everyone to join them in prayer for Dr. Graham.
