U.S. Hostage Killed In Rescue Attempt

An American journalist that Al-Qaeda threatened to kill Saturday died during a rescue attempt by U.S. led forces.

U.S. Special Forces discovered the location where the Islamic terrorists were holding Luke Somers, 33, and a South African hostage, Pierre Korkie, 56, in the village of Dafaar.  The raid just after midnight also left 13 terrorists dead.

Al-Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula has been establishing itself in Yemen and has been gaining support among Sunnis in the nation.

The group has also been publicly denouncing ISIS but intelligence officials say that the groups are quietly working together behind the scenes.  The group has two other western hostages that they are reportedly demanding cash ransom for their release.

Compounding the tragedy are reports from South Africa that the terrorists had agreed to release Korkie on Sunday, the day after the failed raid.  The family said they hold no ill will toward the U.S. for their loved one’s death and said they “choose to forgive.  We choose to love.”

Boko Haram Rampage Leaves Dozens Dead

Officials in Borno State are reporting a massacre over the weekend in the Christian town of Shani carried out by Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram.

The communications with the town were cut off during the attack and officials say they are just now learning the scope of the attack.

A resident of the town told the Nigerian Daily Post that Boko Haram descended on the town around 8 p.m. local time on Saturday.

“They came on about 10 motorcycles from Gwaskara axis, well armed with Ak47 rifles, improvised explosive devices and petrol bombs, wrecking havoc without confrontation as there was no military operatives, nor police to assist the armless civilians who were running for dear lives,” the witness said.

The witness said at least two dozen people were killed and many businesses looted.

“A boy ran into my shop and said his father and elder brother had been shot. He was only wearing shorts, no top and sweating despite the wintry weather. I shut down my shop immediately, leaving some items outside,” business-owner Shuabu Lawal said.

Kenya Changes Security Officials After Terror Attack

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced a mass change in security officials after the Islamic terrorist group al-Shabaab struck at a quarry in northeast Kenya.

The terrorists brutally executed any non-Muslim working at the quarry.  At least 36 people were confirmed dead and several others are missing.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the terror attack and said they will keep executing non-Muslims in Kenya until the country pulls their troops out of Somalia, where they are working with African Union forces to eliminate the terrorists.

Kenyan security officials say the terrorists snuck up on the workers while they were sleeping and then separated the Muslims before shooting others at close range.

President Kenyatta said that police chief David Kimaiyo and Interior Minister Joseph old Lenku are out.  He called on the parliament to quickly approve his proposed replacement because “our bickering only emboldens the enemy.”

Christian Man Tortured and Killed By Pakistani Police

Police in Lahore, Pakistan tortured and killed a 35-year-old Christian man, setting off a firestorm of protest in the city.

The family of the slain man, Rakha Shahzad, stormed the police facility demanding justice for his killing.  The agents claimed the Christian man had drugs and alcohol in his system as well as selling them and died of a “heart attack” during questioning.

The family says that Shahzad was arrested because he was a Christian.

Local Christian officials say that Shahzad’s death is just the latest in ongoing campaigns of hate and intimidation against the Christians of the region by Islamic officials.

“The whole world is still deeply shocked and outraged for the lynching of the Christian couple in Kasur, but violence continues: it is urgent to repeal laws that are routinely used to persecute Christians and ensure justice and legality, starting with the work and the behavior of the police and public officials,” Christian lawyer Mushtaq Gill told The Christian Post.

At least 44 people have been arrested in connection with the lynching of the Christian couple.  Gill hopes that police officials in Lahore will be investigated and charged in the death of Shahzad.

Taliban Kill Five In Attacks On British Diplomats & Compounds

The Taliban attacked a British convoy on Thursday killing five people.

The homicide bomb attack focused on a vehicle from the British embassy and killed two embassy workers, one British and one Afghani.

The attack wounded at least 30 bystanders.

“I am deeply saddened to confirm that a British national civilian security team member and an Afghan national working for the embassy were killed in the incident,” Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said in a statement.

The blast was the first of the day.  A second blast a few hours later struck at a compound run by a contractor for the U.S. aid agency in the country.  It shook buildings throughout the diplomatic section of Kabul and was the start of an hour long shootout between terrorists and Afghani security forces.

A foreign national and two terrorists died in the second explosion.

There have been five major terrorist attacks by the Taliban this week.

Seven Dead From Great Lakes Storm

At least seven people are confirmed dead from the massive snowstorm that slammed several Great Lakes states.

The storm has dumped massive amounts of snow on New York including six feet of snow on the Buffalo area.  A state of emergency exists for 10 counties in New York.

“This storm is an extraordinarily difficult situation, with snowfall that may break records. We are prepared, but we need residents to stay off the roads so that first responders can do their work and keep people safe,” New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo said.

“Although the sun may be shining, we are using this opening to clear roads before the snow begins falling again. This is an opportunity to be a good neighbor and check on your fellow New Yorkers to see if they need assistance, but I urge everyone to stay off the road.”

One of the deaths was a 46-year-old man found inside a buried car. A Pennsylvania man was killed when a high lift attempting to free the man’s car ended up pinning him to the car.

Forecasters say that another two to three feet of snow could hit the Buffalo area.

Fifth Person Dies From Terror Attack On Jerusalem Synagogue

An Israeli police officer has died from injuries sustained during the terrorist attack Tuesday at a Jerusalem synagogue.

The terrorist group Hamas is claiming that the attack was revenge for the killing of a Palestinian bus driver on Sunday despite the fact it was proven by multiple sources the bus driver committed suicide.

Hamas dismissed all the evidence that Yussuf al-Ramuni killed himself and said the death had to be caused by Jewish settlers.

“I strongly condemn today’s terrorist attack on worshipers at a synagogue in Jerusalem, which killed four innocent people, including U.S. citizens Aryeh Kupinsky, Cary William Levine, and Mosheh Twersky, and injured several more,” Obama said in an official White House statement.

“There is and can be no justification for such attacks against innocent civilians. The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the victims and families of all those who were killed and injured in this horrific attack and in other recent violence.”

Netanyahu Demands World Condemn Palestinian Terror

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling on world leaders to finally end their excuses for Palestinian terror attacks on Israelis and condemn Mahmoud Abbas for inciting violence against innocent civilians.

Netanyahu pointed out that the Palestinian Authority has been routinely spreading false statements to incite anger toward Israel.

“Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, and the PA are spreading false rumors, saying we are defiling the Temple Mount, that we plan to destroy holy sites — those are all lies,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu noted the Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack but noted that in the same statement also included false propaganda about the Israeli government.

“I urge all world leaders… I want to see shock, utter denunciation of terrorism, of the murder of Jews in their prayer shawls,” Netanyahu said.

Muslim Terrorists Attack Jerusalem Synagogue

Two Palestinian terrorists attacked a synagogue during morning prayers and left death and destruction in their wake.

Four people are confirmed dead and at eight others injured when the Muslim terrorists charged into the synagogue with meat cleavers and at least one gun Tuesday morning.  The terrorists then died in a gun battle with police after their attack on innocent civilians.

The Muslim terrorists were identified as cousins Ghassan and Uday Abu Jamal.

Three of the dead held joint U.S.-Israeli citizenship.  The fourth held dual British-Israeli citizenship.

“The gentleman I tended to first still had his tefillin on. There were also women there who didn’t know where their husbands were, and others who didn’t know where their father was. Those were most likely the ones killed. It was very hard to deal with, very upsetting,” a first responder told Haaretz newspaper.

“I looked up and saw someone shooting people at point-blank range. Then someone came in with what looked like a butcher’s knife and he went wild,” Yosef Posternak, who was in the synagogue praying when the attack started, told Israel Radio. “I saw people lying on the floor, blood everywhere. People were trying to fight with [the attackers] but they didn’t have much of a chance.”

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry quickly condemned the attack.

“Innocent people who had come to worship died in the sanctuary of a synagogue,” a visibly upset Kerry told reporters.  “They were hatcheted, hacked and murdered in that holy place in an act of pure terror and senseless brutality and murder. I call on Palestinians at every single level of leadership to condemn this in the most powerful terms. This violence has no place anywhere, particularly after the discussion that we just had the other day in Amman.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Israel would “respond harshly” to the attack.

Terrorists Behead American Aid Workers

Islamic terrorist group ISIS has beheaded another captive and posted the video on the internet.

Peter Kassig is the third American to be brutally slaughtered by the murderers.

Kassig, 26, had served in the Iraq War and became motivated to make a difference in the lives of the Iraqis after the war ended.  He had founded a group called SERA (Special Emergency Response and Assistance) which delivered food and medical supplies to refugee camps near the Syrian and Iraqi border.

Kassig had written to his parents stating he feared being killed.

“I am obviously pretty scared to die but the hardest part is not knowing, wondering, hoping, and wondering if I should even hope at all,” Kassig said. “I am very sad that all this has happened and for what all of you back home are going through. If I do die, I figure that at least you and I can seek refuge and comfort in knowing that I went out as a result of trying to alleviate suffering and helping those in need.”

The Obama administration confirmed that the video was genuine.
