That Generation is now and we are That Generation – Amir Tsarfati

1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 KJV – “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

Important Takeaways:

  • ‘We Are The Generation’: God Has Not Left Us In The Dark About the Generation We Live In
  • Jesus also gave us a very important detail about this same timeframe and the nearness of the day of the Lord:
  • Matthew 24:32-34 KJV – “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
  • Jeremiah 8:13, Hosea 9:10, and Joel 1:7 all refer to Israel as a fig tree, and the content of the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24-25 is concerning events before and during the 70th week of Daniel – also referred to as the Great Tribulation. That means the fig tree Jesus is referring to is the nation of Israel, and when it puts forth leaves and the branch is tender (which indicates new growth) we can know that summer is near. From that example Jesus said that the generation that sees this will not pass away before all things in the Olivet Discourse take place.
  • Matthew 24:44 KJV – “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
  • The phrase “hour you do not expect” could also be translated as “a season never supposed”. That carries with it a couple of potential meanings. Either that Jesus is coming for us at a time when things are unimaginable, like now, or that Jesus is coming at a time when few think He will, also like now. Whichever meaning is the one that God intended, both make clear that the hour is late. The Jews are back in the land, the fig tree has put forth leaves, and the unknown day or hour is likely very near.
  • So what do we do? Sit and wait? No, we go and tell. Tell others about the one who died to save their souls.

Ken Ham writes about why the Family has come under incredible attack “It only takes one Generation to wipe out a spiritual legacy”

Romans 1:28 “And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.”

Important Takeaways:

  • It Only Takes One Generation — Why The Family Has Come Under Incredible Attack
  • Prior to his presidency, in his gubernatorial inaugural address in 1967, Ronald Reagan stated:
    • Freedom is a fragile thing and it’s never more than one generation away from extinction.
  • In responding to mob violence in the country in 1838, President Abraham Lincoln stated:
    • … Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never!
    • At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction were our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.
  • While delivering a speech in Australia, in August 2014, atheist Lawrence Krauss stated:
    • Change is always one generation away . . . So if we can plant the seeds of doubt in our children, religion will go away in a generation, or at least largely go away—and that’s what I think we have an obligation to do.
  • In 1935, Nazi Germany’s dictator, Hitler, was reported as stating:
  • He alone, who owns the youth, gains the Future!
  • Judges 2:10-12 KJV – “And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim: And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger.”
  • They lost the spiritual legacy they had in one generation.
  • The devil knows that to destroy the family is to destroy the culture and stop a godly legacy from being passed to the next generation so it can impact people’s lives. As President Lincoln detailed, it’s the attacks from within that will destroy.
