Nepal “On War Footing”

The prime minister of Nepal is telling reporters that his country is “on war footing” as they work to recover victims of the weekend earthquake and aftershocks.

Sushii Koirala told Reuters was “doing all it can for rescue and relief” in a “difficult hour.”  He said that he was making requests to every nation around the globe for help in rescuing citizens trapped in rural areas.

Koirala said that many of the requests from rural areas are having to be denied because they do not have the heavy equipment necessary to reach the victims.  The lack of available resources likely means an increase in the death toll.

The death toll from the quake has officially passed 5,000 and over 10,000 have been confirmed to have suffered injuries.

Nepal’s home ministry reports at leave 500,000 people have been displaced by the quake.  However, the United Nations puts the estimates significantly higher.

“Eight million people in 39 districts have been affected, of which over two million people live in the 11 severely affected districts,” said the most recent report from the UN Office of the Resident Co-ordinator in Nepal.

Relief workers in Gortha, which was located next to the epicenter, say that 90% of the town has been leveled.  Most residents do not have access to clean water or food.

Aftershocks are continuing to hit the region causing minor landslides that are hampering relief efforts.  The government has declared three days of mourning for the dead.

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn Addresses United Nations About Christian ‘Holocaust’

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, The New York Times best-selling author of The Harbinger and The Mystery of the Shemitah, addressed the United Nations on Friday about the worsening persecution of Christians in the Middle East and other parts of the world.

Cahn, the senior rabbi at the Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne, New Jersey, was invited along with other Jewish and Christian leaders, businessmen and high-ranking military officials, to speak at the conference entitled, “The Persecution of Christians Globally: A Threat to International Peace and Security.”

ISIS Destroys Biblical City of Calah

The Biblical city of Calah has been wiped from the face of the Earth by Islamic terrorists.

ISIS has released a video showing their destruction of the town of Calah, also called the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud.

The 7-minute video shows ISIS using sledgehammers, drills and other heavy equipment to destroy ancient artifacts before setting off three barrel bombs that completely destroy the historical site.

The town is 22 miles south of Mosul and was believed to date back to the 13th century B.C.

The town is mentioned in Genesis 10:11 as being built by Nimrod, who the Bible says is the first “mighty man” on Earth.

“Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.” The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.”  (Genesis 10:8-12 ESV)

The United Nations has called the action a war crime.

In a new crime in their series of reckless offenses, they assaulted the ancient city of Nimrud and bulldozed it with heavy machinery, appropriating archaeological attractions dating back 13 centuries B.C.,” a statement from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization reads.

“This is yet another attack against the Iraqi people, reminding us that nothing is safe from the cultural cleansing under way in the country: it targets human lives, minorities, and is marked by the systematic destruction of humanity’s ancient heritage,”UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova said.

UN Human Rights Council May Take Up Abedini’s Case

Officials with the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) say the U.N. Human Rights Council is taking a hard look at the case of Pastor Saeed Abedini and his wrongful imprisonment in Iran.

“The Human Rights Council Working Group looked at the facts, they looked at the evidence and they came to the independent conclusion, as we have, that his detention is arbitrary, that it is in violation of international law and that he should be freed,” Associate Counsel Matthew Clark said to One News Now.

“So the U.N. is taking steps to put out there exactly what is happening and what action needs to be taken by the Iranian government to free him.”

The move by the U.N. is seen as significant to put pressure on Iran in the wake of Abedini’s home country doing nothing to help obtain his release from an Iran prison.

“It’s been nearly two and a half years now since Jacob’s dad, Saeed Abedini, has been imprisoned in Iran because of his Christian faith,” Jay Sekulow of the ACLJ wrote in an article for Fox News.

“And, on this day, the day Jacob turns 7, his dad is still languishing in prison — separated from his son, his daughter and his wife — still in need of medical care, still facing an uncertain fate.”

ISIS Killing Doctors For Not Harvesting Body Parts

Iraq’s ambassador to the United Nations is calling for the world body to investigate reports that ISIS is killing doctors who will not harvest organs for sale on the black market.

Ambassador Mohamed Alhakim said that dozens of bodies have been found in shallow graves with surgical incisions.  Examinations of the bodies show that organs like the kidneys, livers and hearts missing.

“Surgeries take place within a hospital and organs are quickly transported through networks specialized in trafficking human organs. Mosuli said that the organs come from fallen fighters who were quickly transported to the hospital, injured people who were abandoned or individuals who were kidnapped,” a report printed by the London Daily Mail read.

Alhakim said they have confirmed reports of a dozen doctors being killed in Mosul for refusing to take organs from dying people.  He said that the group is using the tactic more to offset losses in exports of oil from seized drilling rigs.

The UN’s envoy to Iraq, Nikolay Miadenov, confirmed some of the ambassador’s claim sand said that 790 people have been confirmed dead from terrorism at the hands of ISIS.

Boko Haram Launches First Attack On Chad Village

Islamic extremist group Boko Haram has launched their first attack on the nation of Chad.

Militants attacked a village on the shore of Lake Chad early Friday morning.  The village of Ngouboua was raided leaving many residents dead although local officials could not say the total number of the dead.

“The assailants have scattered and the army is now pursuing them,” army Col. Azem Bermandoa told The Associated Press by telephone.

Chad has been the largest supporter of Nigerian troops in their battle against the Islamists.  Boko Haram leaders had been warning they were going to be launching attacks on those who had been supporting their opposition.

Chad is also working with Niger, Cameroon and Benin to start a multi-national force to fight the terrorists.  The official launch of the unit is expected in the next few weeks.

Boko Haram likely chose the city because it was a refuge for Nigerians who had fled the terrorists.  The U.N. says at least 3,300 refugees were in the village.

Islamic Leader Says Muhammad Drawings Will Lead To World War III

An Islamic leader is calling on western countries to limit freedom of speech because unless they stop people from drawing pictures of Muhammad, they will be inciting World War III.

Sirajul Haq, the leader of the Islamic extremist Jamaat-e-Islami Party in Pakistan, told a crowd during a protest celebrating the attack on French newspaper Charlie Hebdo that the United Nations and western leaders need to make sure religious personalities are not mocked.

“The path that the West has chosen will take the world to a third world war,” Haq told the crowd.

Haq also demanded that France issue a formal apology for allowing Charlie Hebdo to exist and for offending “billions of Muslims across the world.”

Jamaat-e-Islami is calling for a worldwide boycott of French products by Muslims as a way to show their anger toward France for allowing anyone to mock Muhammad.  The group also is part of a circle of Muslim extremist groups that have offered a $1.6 million bounty for the heads of Charlie Hebdo cartoonists.

UN Head Says Palestinian Will Join International Criminal Court April 1

The head of the UN has taken an anti-Israeli action in stating that Palestine will join the International Criminal Court on April 1.

The move will allow Palestinians to harass Israel repeatedly with false accusations before the ICC.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas signed documents to join the ICC a day after the UN Security Council rejected their resolution for a three year deadline to establish a Palestinian state on Israeli occupied lands.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon posted on the UN’s treaty website that he was acting in the “capacity as depositary” for the ICC’s documents of ratification when allowed Palestine to enter April 1, 2015.

The move is part of an Palestinian campaign to attack Israel following the 50-day war started by Palestinians kidnapping and killing Israeli teenagers.  The move has seen blow back for the Palestinians, as Israel has withheld $100 million in tax funds and the Obama administration said they are reviewing the $440 million per year they have been sending to Palestine.

France Explains Vote For Palestinian Statehood

France is explaining the controversial decision to vote in favor of Palestinian statehood at the U.N. Security Council.

France’s ambassador to Israel said his nation was backing the resolution because they wanted to encourage Israel and the Palestinians to resume their peace negotiations.

Ambassador Patrick Maisonnave had been summoned to the Israel Foreign Ministry after the vote because of Israel’s “deep disappointment” with the actions of the French government.  Israel had previously said they would reject any resolution from the U.N. that put a timetable on the statehood for Palestine.

France had objected to the wording of the resolution and had tried to push a more moderately worded document that was rejected before the vote on the Palestinian measure.

The measure failed in the Security Council by one vote.  Palestine’s response was to try and obtain statehood at the International Criminal Court so they could continue their campaign against Israel.
