Let’s Talk 2016! (Pt. 1)

So here we are at the beginning of 2016.  What’s ahead?  Is there anything positive to look forward to?

Is there any Good News for this year?

Each year I seek God for some insight on the upcoming year.  While inquiring of the Lord about 2016 I kept hearing the words “GOD FIRST” and “INCREASE.”  Continue reading

Arise, Shine for Thy Light Has Come

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; even now it shall spring forth.  For I will even make a way, a way in the wilderness.  I will make a way for my people, to give drink to my chosen ones.  And rivers, and rivers, and rivers shall flow in the desert and rivers of waters shall flow in the wilderness.  For I have formed myself a people, and they shall show forth my praise.”  Isaiah 43: 18-19

Today I found myself singing this scripture chorus which had a powerful anointing on it during the Charismatic renewal.  Today, that anointing is still there as one begins to sing and worship from his or her heart. Continue reading

The Real Reason for Christmas

In Genesis 1, we have the recount of God’s purpose for the creation of mankind.  He made man; spirit, soul and body, and gave him a perfect helpmate to communicate with each day in a very beautiful garden.

Even when man and his wife sinned, as recorded in Genesis 3, and were expelled from God’s beautiful setting, God’s Son, Jesus was on the scene as “an Angel of the Lord”.   All through the Old Testament, even when Jesus came as a baby boy born of the Virgin Mary, He was prophesied of coming in Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6,7, 750 years before it happened.  Continue reading

Our Hiding Place

Last week was rough for many Americans as we watched in horror the shootings in Colorado Springs, CO and San Bernardino, CA.  Our hearts and prayers are for the families who lost precious loved ones in the massacres.  Pray for the injured to totally recover in Jesus’ name.

The Morningside Prayer Team will continue to pray for these families and friends during this season of loss. Continue reading

Give Thanks!

During this Thanksgiving season it is important to remember the goodness and faithfulness of our Wonderful Lord. No matter the difficulty of our trials and valleys in life, there is always something for which to be thankful. I personally have faced many tragedies, disappointments and losses during my lifetime and the only way I found to restore hope was to begin giving God thanks for the simplest things. To Be Like-Minded

Not too long ago my husband and I went home to Michigan for our nephew’s wedding. We also spent time with family members on all sides. Two years ago we moved from Michigan to Blue Eye, Missouri. It was a calling of the Lord to leave all and go and learn to be a servant of the Lord.

A short time after we returned home from the wedding, I realized one day how much I had missed sharing with those of Like-mindedness while I was away on my trip. Continue reading

What Will Your Answer Be? (Pt. 2)

Fear – we’ve all experienced it. Perhaps the enemy has you convinced that you will never be delivered. Maybe you have already resigned to living in anxiety. Well, Jesus said He came to set the captives free! That includes you and me and anything we are captive to — including fear.

Stay close to God. The more we understand who God is, the less fear we will have. Does this mean that we won’t ever struggle with temptations to fret or that worry will never invade our thought life? No, but as we spend more time with God, better comprehend and experience His love, power and strength, the more we will rely upon Him. Continue reading

What Will Your Answer Be? (Pt. 1)

Christian persecution in America and throughout the world is definitely on the rise and is becoming more common. More and more Christians are being martyred every year. Now with the escalation in killings by various terrorist groups, that number is increasing daily. Just today I read about Christian women missionaries being targeted, raped and crucified. God help us!

The recent mass shooting in Roseburg, Oregon, pierced my heart and drove me to pray fervently for the families of the victims and survivors. Those of you who have experienced a loved one dying suddenly, no matter the cause, know the devastating impact it has on your whole being. My heart broke for those who lost loved ones, the injured survivors, and everyone who experienced this trauma. Continue reading
