Doctor: Sugar Eight Times More Addictive Than Cocaine

Luke 17:28-30 “Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built” but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

If you have ever told a friend that you are craving sugar and you can’t seem to be able to stop eating it, then you may actually be addicted to sugar.

Dr. Mark Hyman told CBS “This Morning” that in animal studies they found that rats go for sugar in a manner that was eight times more addictive than cocaine.  Hyman said that Americans are addicted to sugar and that most don’t know it because they see sugary food and drinks as part of their daily diet.

Hyman says that sugary foods are “deadly” to the body.  He said that sugar is a direct  cause of diabetes and obesity.

Hyman told the New York Daily News that the average American eats 152 pounds of sugar a year.

In a diet study conducted by Hyman that encouraged healthier eating habits and helped people cut their sugar dependence, the average person found their blood pressure falling by about 10 points.

  1. In the last 2 years I have cut my sugar intake by over 90%. I have lost 42 pounds and I have clinical data proving that I am reversing prostate cancer without surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. Haven’t felt this good in a decade.

  2. YES! I’ve recently been reading up on the effects of sugar on your body and was so shocked at what I’ve discovered. I’m so glad this Dr. Is a preaching the word on how bad refined sugar is for our bodies. I now understand why I’ve had the weight issues, chronic depression and other problems like brain fog etc… all of these years. Finally after getting healthier and losing weight and cutting my sugar intake 75% I can honestly say I feel better and like the way I feel and starting to look.
