Miami Islamic Cleric Convicted Of Supporting Taliban

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

A Muslim cleric who is was the imam of a downtown Miami mosque has been convicted of sending tens of thousands of dollars to the Taliban in Pakistan.

77-year-old Hafiz Khan has been convicted on two counts of conspiracy and two counts of providing material support to terrorists. Each charge has a maximum 15-year prison term. Khan will be sentenced May 30.

The FBI produced multiple recordings of Khan talking about sending money to the Taliban including $50,000 that was sent to Pakistan. He openly spoke of wanting to overthrow Pakistan’s government in favor of Sharia Law, showed support for the failed 2010 Times Square bombing and celebrated the deaths of American troops.

Khan claimed he was only sending money to family members, charities and to support a religious school in the Swat Valley of Pakistan.

Khan’s family claims he has dementia and can’t remember anything so it was unfair to try him on the charges. Khan was the only one of six men identified as part of the scam who went to trial. Khan’s two sons were cleared of charges and three men remain free in Pakistan, who refuses to extradite citizens to face U.S. charges.
