Restoration At Heritage; Blast From the Past

Dale Hill, Pastor Jim’s first director from 46 years ago at CBN, was able to attend the Restoration Celebration and speak to the Master’s Media students.

He has been working in ministries all these years as a director and honing his craft. Pastor Jim said Dale’s skills were priceless and the lessons learned from him by the Master’s students were immeasurable.

During a session with the students, Melody Hayes said she learned from Mr. Hill that focus and dedication were how he learned with Pastor Jim. Through trial and error for hours and hours on end, they worked many nights perfecting the shows that were unknown in the Christian world. It was uncharted territory for both of them. Hill said that if Your relationship with God is strong enough, then your calling to Him cannot be shaken.

Harmony Hayes added some bullet points that Hill made that held true throughout his career that work perfectly for the Generation NOW team and Pastor Jim’s crew:

1. Be a sponge. Soak up any information you can.

2. Make a team and be the best in your part of the team that you can be. Be the very best at whatever it is you are doing.

3. Apply yourself.

4. Always look for ways to improve things when you walk into a room.

5. Never be late. Always respect people’s time and they will respect yours.

6. Do everything like it’s the last time you’ll get to do it.

7. Spend at least 3 hours a day enhancing what you believe is your calling or gifting, not just doing it. Then, if it is not worth pursuing, don’t waste your time, or anyone else’s for that matter.

Both Harmony and Melody were in awe of the opportunity Pastor Jim has presented them in this Restoration Celebration and amazed that he was able to pull this together is such a short period of time. That was the consensus of the entire group of people at the Restoration Celebration – gratitude and blessing to be a part of it.

Virtually every moment is busy with either teachings, prepping or simply checking on the next thing, but there is nary an ungrateful moment and it’s difficult to want to even sleep for fear of missing something (no fear, we do, however get our rest).

At the Upper Room, Kevin Shorey preached the first night on Problems, Promise, Process, and Provision. There was an anointing service of healing and laying of hands by the prayer teams of Morningside, Morningstar. Master’s Media students were honored additionally by the presence of Russell James, Bobby Riedel, and other long time partners and friends of Pastor Jim like 92-year old Sarah, who prayed with our prayer team throughout the evening.

Today, Pastor Jim taught students from Morningside and Morningstar in a joint session for a three hours that was lively and exciting for all involved. Not only was it an informational sharing venture, but it was exciting for the students and Pastor Jim to share experiences from here at Heritage.

Even rainy weather has not put a damper on the spirits of those in attendance and with three days left, and the taping of the shows to beginning tomorrow, the fervor is only going to rise!
