Special Pastor Jim Bakker Show Taping This Friday!

The Jim Bakker Show is taping a special celebration show this Friday, March 30th, at 3:30 pm. The show will celebrate the students who will be graduating in the 2012 class of Morningside Master’s Media.

These students have spent the year working intently with the staff of the Jim Bakker Show to hone their skills in broadcasting. Once they’ve graduated, they’ll be able to work with broadcast ministries around the world to spread the love and truth of Christ.

They have also learned how to effectively broadcast through the internet in ways that have not been used in traditional Christian broadcasting. With more teens and young adults using their smartphones and computers to watch TV, knowing how to effectively create programming for those audiences is vital to the future of Christian broadcasting.

Make plans to join us for the special taping and celebration of the hard work of our Master’s Media students this Friday, March 30th at Morningside starting at 3:30 pm!

Master’s Media Kids Need Our Support

Right now, we are focusing on our Master’s Media kids and preparing them to “go ye” into all the world with the Gospel of Jesus.  This can’t happen unless you and I, the older generation, gets behind these kids with our prayers and our finances.

You know, the world doesn’t really look like the world we knew as teenagers.  Before, in the traditional church, we sent missionaries to occupy and evangelize other nations and other places that had not heard the Gospel.  Now, we find that our nation is one of the top mission fields of the world.  We need to embrace a new breed of missionary that knows how to “go” in a new way.  We are doing this with our Master’s Media kids.  We are embracing the technology and their way of evangelizing.

The way we evangelize, especially to the new generation, must be a way that can reach these kids that they understand.  Most kids are not coming to church – they can’t relate to church.  So we need to go get them.  We need to find a way to reach them with Jesus, and it’s not going to be by traditional means.  It’s going to be different – it’s going to be through social media and other web-related technologies.

You see, it has all changed from when you and I were young.  Back then, the social environment didn’t include a world-wide spectrum.  It only included those in your home town and maybe a few close neighboring towns.  Today, kids are influenced by many, many voices world-wide.  Most of those voices are not the ones they should be listening to – but they’re out there, influencing our kids.  Our voice needs to be out there too – dispelling the lies that they’re hearing from every imaginable source.

Here at Morningside, we are busy training young people, and getting them prepared to evangelize in their own way.  We have just remodeled the Tabernacle into a state-of-the-art studio for them to use to creatively produce Christian programs that other kids will see, world-wide.  We have ordered brand new cameras that are dedicated to the school and the student’s work.  We have just launched a new website built for them to express their faith and give their testimonies (see generationNOWiptv.com).   This week, we are taking them all to Dallas, Texas for a Master’s Commission conference.

For those of us who are older, our job is not done – we must support this new generation, not only with our prayers, but with our means. There are many ways to do this.  You can call our Customer Service department at 417-779-9000 or 1-888-988-1588 and:  (1) give a one-time donation for scholarship funding; (2) you can specify support funds for a particular student. We can leave no greater legacy than to support the next generation in their work for the Lord.  Let’s get behind them.

We can leave no greater legacy than to support the next generation in their work for the Lord.

Morningside Master’s Media in Wilmore, KY – Update

We returned to Morningside on Sunday after several days of recruiting and passing out flyers, buttons, and the “squeeze lights” (which were VERY popular, by the way)!   The weather was bad at times and we had to leave our tent several times for safety purposes, but all in all, we were successful in getting the word out about Master’s Media.  Several high school juniors expressed interest in attending after they graduate, and many older adults took our brochures to pass out to their youth groups at church.  We are expecting a wonderful school year ahead!

Morningside Master’s Media in Wilmore, KY

The Morningside Master’s Media students are traveling to Wilmore, Ky for the Ichthus Christian Music Festival to recruit students for Master’s Media.

The students are challenged to “give God one year of your life and see what happens.”  They may choose to build a website, learn administrative skills, minister on television, sing, preach, go into high schools and on ministry trips domestically and to other countries.  They may run camera, edit, direct or even produce their own television programs that will be broadcast live through our networking.  They could preach, sing and pray for people.  The main goal is not to build a ministry, but to launch each student into their own God-given ministry and fulfill their calling!

Please pray for our students as they go out and share their experiences at Morningside Master’s Media with others.  We’re excited to see who God will bring in the upcoming semesters.  As Pastor Jim says, “They are the Now Generation, and their time is now!”

Graduation of the Morningside Master’s Media Class of 2011

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you;
plans to give you hope and a future.”  -Jeremiah 29:11

On May 29, 2011 we proudly celebrated the Graduation of the Morningside Master’s Media Class of 2011.  The ceremony was attended by many friends and family who traveled great distances to be there to see their loved one pass this major milestone.  The day was completed with a Graduation Dinner for everyone  in honor of the class.

When Pastor Jim spoke of this class, he said “They are the Now Generation and their time is now!  Each of them has different talents, different dreams, and different destinations, yet they all desire to make a difference for Christ in using today’s great broadcasting tools, and other avenues of serving our Savior.  Today is only a beginning of a journey, an adventure that will lead to many destinations and only then will this team of warriors realize all they have learned!”
