Narrative

Pastor Jim & Lori Bakker along with Mondo De La Vega talk about some of the silly gifts that people give during Christmas. Pastor Jim says that during troubling times, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Pastor Jim and Lori showed the audience a cow that laughs and rolls around on the floor.

Pastor Jim and Mondo talk about how they came across the Morningside Emergency Fuel Product, Frank Weston and Konel Banner, whom they met at a survival expo in Missouri. Their fire product lights up on dry ground as well as on surfaces covered with snow or water. Seeing the invention at the Expo, Mondo foresaw that it would be a big success, especially after it became one of the many products offered on the Pastor Jim Bakker show.

Pastor Jim described the inventors as woodsmen, boy scout leaders, hunters and fishers who were inspired to develop something that would provide an alternative heating and cooking source in case of disaster or emergency. After many years of research, the men refined their product and even made it eco-friendly, powered by use of food oils instead of toxic fuels or other substances. Morningside Emergency Fuel also is recyclable in that it turns into soil fertilizer when its burning use has been exhausted. Pastor Jim stated his belief that inventions of this kind come from minds full of wisdom, as Solomon, in the Bible, asked for wisdom rather than fame or money. The pastor then warned that such items will be necessary in the coming time of trouble.

Pastor Jim discusses that joy is mentioned many times in the Bible and saying “Merry Christmas” is a spiritual thing, as well as a wish for the joy of Jesus to come to others. He pointed out several verses that tell the faithful to rejoice and rest in the joy that comes from knowing God and then distinguished between joy and happiness by saying the latter is fickle and goes up and down while joy comes from within. He went on to say that real joy remains even if you are in the midst of a storm or a hard trial. The book of Psalms, he continued, promises that lasting joy comes from being in God’s presence. Even in the New Testament, Jesus stated a desire that his joy would remain in his disciples and that they would attain fulness of joy.

Scriptures

II Chronicles 1:7-12 Solomon Asks for Wisdom

Proverbs 8:12 KJV I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

Psalm 32:11 KJV Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Psalm 16:11 KJV Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

John 15:11 KJV These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

John 16:20-22 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
