When I was in prison, I searched every scripture for a pre-tribulation rapture. I searched and searched. I read everybody’s book, all the prophetic teachers’ books, and not one of them gave scripture for a pre-tribulation Rapture. Scofield’s notes were as close as they could get to proving a pre-tribulation Rapture in the Bible and the Scofield notes are not the written Word of God; they’re notes!
Yet, here you have it in plain speak, in Matthew 24. It doesn’t get any clearer than this:
“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn.”
Why do they mourn? The people are mourning because their judgment is coming. “But then shall they see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory.”
I believe the sun and the moon will go dark; I believe Jesus is going to come in the clouds with such brightness that every eye sees him as he breaks through!
But now go over to the book of Acts and this is the day of Pentecost and they say, “What does this have to do with all of this?” In the book of Acts, they’re telling the people, “What is this?” And He says, “This is the Last Days. He’s going to pour out his Spirit on all flesh.” But then He says, “I’m going to show signs and wonders in heaven above,” verse 19 of Acts, chapter 2, “…and in the earth beneath, blood and fire and vapour of smoke.”
What in the world is that, but a volcano?
This is on the Day of Pentecost that they’re talking about the Last Days, and I believe it was the beginning of the outpouring of the Holy Ghost as well.
I believe we’re the generation that’s going to see the End. I see the Rapture taking place where the Gospel ends; the Gospel is finished and I believe that’s when we go to Heaven.
The Bible says, “The sun shall be turned into darkness.” There will be signs in heaven above, signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire and vapour of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, blood red, before that great and notable day of the Lord comes.
What great and notable day? That’s the Rapture of the church! That’s the Great Day that the church is looking for! … And we have it throughout the Word of God. But, I have lived my whole life and have never, ever heard any minister ever preach that the sun and the moon is going to be dark. They jump over it! You have it in Joel where the outpouring of Holy Spirit is, and everybody loves that; they shout and jump. But two verses later, you have the sun and the moon going dark.
I believe the great harvest time is a move of the Holy Spirit and we’re in it right now. I believe there’s going to be an outpouring. I believe with these earthquakes there will be millions who are going to want to hear the Gospel!
…And that’s why we’ve got to stay preaching on the television, on any communications that’s still available, and I even want to go to shortwave now. I want to do it all. Anything that will broadcast the Gospel!
It’s going to be the Time, the great hour of the Church, where all of you have got to pick up the hoes and the rakes and the harvest equipment, because we’re to be the harvesters!
