Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us that there’s a time for every purpose under heaven. God wants us to understand the times we live in and He wants us to treat them with awe and the proper respect for what is about to take place.
It’s one thing when the world doesn’t respect or acknowledge that God is about to shake things up for one final manifestation of the truth of His Word; it’s another for His own people to be so in love with this world that they don’t want to know anything about the final days of it… as we know it, anyway.
This is a year to choose how you spend your time very wisely. We have heard from the most authoritative prophetic voices of our times that we are entering a very serious year, and a season of magnificent signs with the Blood Moons that point to something very big, very soon.
Most of us know through the words of the prophets that this is probably the last year that we can get ready for what is coming, but have we really pressed in to ask the Lord just what He would have us to do and just how we are to spend our time?
Remember that you were chosen to be here during this time in the history of the world and that, in itself, is a vote of confidence from the Throne that you can do and will do what the Lord asks of you. And, let’s all keep in mind that it’s not all about you – Jesus loves you and wants to be with you in Heaven – but He also wants you to be very involved with all the others He is calling into the Kingdom in the Harvest of the Ages!
Every action and every word should be measured and weighed in the light of this amazing day we live in and the urgency of His timing. Things are coming to a head – and that’s a good thing, not a bad thing.
We need to get our heads and our spirits around that reality… and the promise of Heaven that so outweighs any of the trouble we have had so far in this life, or trouble that may come before it’s all over. Nothing can compare to the sheer ecstasy of being in Heaven with the One we love and the One Who loves us more than He did His Own life.
So, can we just begin to focus on the hour? Can we understand the urgency of the day? Can we set our minds and our hearts to zero in on His leading? Can we set our faces like flints (Isaiah 50:7) to march forward with a holy determination to not miss a single thing we are here to accomplish?
Many will be asleep, and many will be lukewarm. We know that by the admonition to the churches in Revelation, chapters 2 and 3.
Let’s not leave anything undone that needs doing. Repent of those things you need to repent of. Make reconciliation wherever you can. Humble yourself and in due time, God will lift you up.
Please don’t misinterpret what I’m saying. We all need some rest and relaxation, i.e. some “down time.” There is no sin in resting and having fun, even in the Last Days! In fact, the Bible tells us that the “joy of the Lord is our strength.”
But, let’s be careful not to allow anything to distract us or to get our attention off of the weightiness of the hour! You can spend all your time with the internet, television, movies, and entertainment of all types, but that is a choice you make.
If you are living in this world, and you don’t see that these are the End Times, it’s because you don’t want to see it and you’ve chosen to ignore it.
Please remember the hour. Paul said it well in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27:
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
Don’t miss the glorious-ness of your purpose and mission. God has need of you – and you have need of Him!
