Trust in the Lord!

If ever there was a time to put your trust in the Lord, the time is now!  Prophetic events are occurring at an amazing pace and even for those trying to keep up with the latest happenings, it has been challenging.  During these troublesome times — the likes of which we’ve never seen before — commit to trusting God in every area and circumstance in your life.

Many of you have walked with the Lord for a long time and have learned to trust God through very difficult trials.  However, even devout and committed Christians are struggling now more than ever with thoughts of fear and apprehension about the future.  We are witnessing horrific violence, unrest, threats of war, water and food shortages, apocalyptic weather patterns throughout the world, political upheavals, and earthquakes (to mention a few.) Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Recently I spent time in the Lord’s presence seeking how to effectively pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.  The Holy Spirit led me to pray these prayers that I am sharing with you.

We thank you, Father, for your everlasting love for Jerusalem and your faithfulness to her throughout the ages. You are her mighty Fortress and Deliverer.

Lord, according to your request in Psalm 122:6 – “6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee;” we pray for Jerusalem during such a time as this. We pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, safety and protection, shalom and wholeness, health and happiness, blessing and fullness, righteousness and holiness.  According to Zechariah 2:12 — We pray that you yourself would be the Wall of Fire around about her and the glory in the midst of her, Lord of Hosts, Adonai Tzevaot.   Continue reading

Happy Vs. Joy

My best friend was always telling me he just wanted to be happy.  My response was happy depends on things that happen.  In other words, happiness depends on the external things that happen to us.  Joy is an internal thing and is not dependent on what is happening around and to us.  So happy depends on the external things in our life.  Joy, on the other hand depends on the internal things in our life. Praise Him!

In the Prayer Center, whenever we receive a call about an answer to prayer we fill out a praise report form.  Many times we end up shouting and rejoicing with the person for the goodness of our God.  It is always so encouraging to the prayer warriors to share the joy of someone’s breakthrough.

I have learned over the years a key principle regarding praise and here it is!  Praise God even before you see the turnaround in a situation.  Maintain an attitude of expectancy.  And why can we do this?  Because God is a promise keeper and His Word is true.  Continue reading

Why Fast?

In Jesus’ teachings concerning the Beatitudes, which means “attitudes be,” He taught about many subjects in Chapters 5 and 6 of Matthew.  In Chapter 6:16-18 He gave instructions on how to fast and its rewards.

Matthew 6:16-18 – “Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.”  KJV Continue reading

Seek! (Pt. 3)

Last week I mentioned this would be the conclusion of “Seek” but now I’ve decided there really is no end to this subject!  This research started out as one installment but expanded to three!  That’s what is so great about our God.  As we grow closer to Him, the more there is to know about Him.

Psalm 63:1 – “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You;”

Go to God first! Continue reading

Seek! (Pt. 1)

There are many scriptures containing the word “seek” and I would like to share some that are relative for our daily living and essential for these end times.

So many today only seek God’s help in emergencies or when their lives are out of control.  Throughout the Bible, there are numerous accounts of men and women who sought God when times were difficult and also in times of blessing.

While it is better to seek God than not seek Him at all, let’s look at the promises in the Word of God that come with consistently pursuing the Lord. Continue reading

God Chose You!

For years I have been a student of God’s Word and have gained so much strength from it.  I have known and memorized Ephesians 1:3 which says that we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3-6 — “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6) To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.  KJV Continue reading

Be Careful What You Think

In Proverbs 4:23 — “Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life.” (NCV) “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (KJV)

In the Greek, the word heart refers to your intellect and will.  What that means to me is that it is very important to control what you put and retain in your mind.  Does the Scripture not tell us to put on the mind of Christ?  We need to think the way that Jesus thinks, to think about the things Jesus thought about and to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.  In John 5:19, it says, “But Jesus said, I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing alone.  The Son does only what He sees the Father doing, because the Son does whatever the Father does.” Continue reading
