Your Vote Counts!

Dear Friends,

The devotions posted here are always intended to encourage and help further your walk with the Lord.  Today is no exception.  However, this week I want to emphasize the impact you can make in the lives of many.

America is in a crisis and it is time for all Christians to unite to save our nation.  Only with God’s help can this be accomplished.  You and I have been entrusted by God to do the right thing at this time in history.  You personally can influence your household, the life of your neighbors, future generations and your state and nation.  We are all of equal influence when it comes to this one thing.  What can potentially have such a tremendous effect on everyone in our nation?

He is Coming!

In Matthew 24, we read that Jesus sat upon the Mount of Olives with His disciples. They began to ask Him about the signs of His coming and the end of the world. The first thing He replied was, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” He warned them that false prophets would arise and that many would be deceived. He also related to them that they would hear of wars and rumors of wars, but that they should not let their hearts be troubled, for the end was not yet. He went on to say that nation would rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, that there would be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in many places, and that these would be the beginning of sorrows. Doesn’t this sound like today? Continue reading

It is Finished

Three Crosses

The Old Testament (O.T.) was our School-Master. Galatians 3:24 gives us an understanding of why we needed the New Testament. Jesus fulfilled the O.T. and gave His life to bring in the New where everything is different. Jesus cried out when He died, “IT IS FINISHED” (THE O.T. Law) and the New had begun.

Hebrews 8:7 — “If the Old Testament had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for the second.”

What’s in a Word?

John 1:1 — “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. KJV

John 1:14 — “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”

John 10:30 — “I and [my] Father are one.”

With these three verses, we find that Jesus, Who was and is the Word, existed in the beginning but was transformed into human form and lived as we do, here on earth. So now, the Word transcends time and space. This is truly supernatural according to our mortal minds.

Yet, God wants us to be like Him in spirit. We, too, can access the spiritual realm and not limit how the Lord chooses to use us. Continue reading

Do Something!

lest we forget

Last Sunday, September 11, 2016, our church shared an awesome time together in worship and praise remembering 9/11.

Recently we were honored to bring on board a new Senior Pastor, Joseph Campbell, to Morningside Church. After months of prayer God had answered our prayers for a Spirit-filled man of God with sincere compassion for the people.

Pastor Joe titled his message, “Lest We Forget.” After he gave the honor and remembrance our country deserved, he then proceeded to address the congregation and turned his message to each one of us. Continue reading

God’s Timing

I am starting with a special scripture from Isaiah 40:31 which says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

God works His timing for those He loves and those who love Him; so at times He appears to be silent. However, God promises to answer our prayers. Continue reading

Love is the Key (Pt. 2)

love

Let’s continue with our search for true love.

In Matthew 19:18-19, we are instructed to “love your neighbor as yourself.” (NIV)

Please note that in God’s Kingdom you are to have a proper love and respect for God’s creation (yourself) because you are made in His image.  God so loved the world… (John 3:16) – Yes, He loved that world even in their sin and iniquity so much that HE GAVE…” The God-kind of love has to give. Our Heavenly Father loved so intensely that He had to give His very best, His only Son.  As the Lord’s love flows through us and out to others we will be giving our best. And yes, sometimes, it will be sacrificially. Continue reading

Love is the Key (Pt. 1)

love

“Just love.”  “All we need is love.”  How often we have heard these phrases, but, how do we do this?  Is it natural human love that accomplishes this, or is it God’s love?  How do you get that love?  How do you truly display God’s love?

I hope that everyone who reads this has experienced true love, the love that comes only from our Lord.  But, if not, let’s seek together how to obtain this love.

Scripture tells us that “God is love.”  Continue reading

Fight the Good Fight of Faith

In my line of ministry, as well as pastoring, I minister in the Prayer Center on the telephone. I really enjoy this ministry outreach.

One thing I have observed is the amount of people who are in “spiritual warfare”.

Ephesians 6:12 – “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” KJV

We’re God’s Ambassadors

Recently as I was reading in the fifth chapter of 2nd Corinthians, I was deeply touched in my spirit. I have read this chapter many times, but this time I was impressed to go back through the chapter and make some notes.

Paul is speaking about our body and calling it our earthly tent. This is another way of saying that life is very temporal.

In James 4:14, we read: “For what is life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” NKJV
